Vignerons de Valencay, Sauvignon VdP du Val de Loire 2018 Valencay, Loire, France
Light yellow in colour, this wine is very aromatic on the nose with notes of pineapple and apricot. It shows good mineral depths and intensity on the palate which make it a highly quaffable alternative that easily bears comparison with many a Sancerre. It has a fragrant nettley character on the palate, along with a crisp acidity on the dry finish.

Sébastien Vaillant and friend Damien Bossier are the only two members of the Vignerons de Valençay co-operative, making it the smallest of its kind in the Loire and possibly in France. Their 40 hectares of vines are located on the hillsides surrounding the River Cher and share much of the same Silex (flint) soils that make the finest of the Loire’s wines.
