Producer
Les Maîtres Vignerons de la Presqu’île de Saint-Tropez
Established in 1964, Les Maîtres Vignerons de la Presqu’île de Saint-Tropez brings together winegrowers from 11 estates and three major cellars across some of Provence’s most highly regarded vineyard areas. Based close to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the organisation combines generations of local knowledge with modern winemaking and bottling facilities to produce wines that express the freshness, elegance and Mediterranean identity of the region.
The growers work across a diverse collection of coastal and inland vineyards, where sunshine, the Mistral and a variety of mineral-rich soils create ideal conditions for producing Côtes de Provence rosé. Vineyard parcels are monitored carefully throughout the growing season, with fruit harvested at optimum maturity and, for Saint-Roch, picked during the cool hours of the night to retain aromatic freshness.
Saint-Roch Les Vignes reflects the producer’s accessible and convivial style: a characterful Provence rosé designed for aperitifs, informal meals and moments shared with friends.
Wine Region
Côtes de Provence, Provence, France
Côtes de Provence is the largest and best-known appellation within Provence and has become the international reference point for pale, elegant rosé. Its vineyards extend between the Mediterranean coast and the hills of inland Provence, encompassing a varied landscape of limestone, clay, sand and schist.
Saint-Roch Les Vignes comes from the “Golden Triangle” formed by Cuers, Puget-Ville and Pierrefeu, an area especially highly regarded for rosé production. Its stony red clay-and-sand soils provide good drainage, while abundant Mediterranean sunshine encourages even ripening. Cooling winds, particularly the Mistral, help preserve healthy grapes and contribute to the freshness and aromatic clarity associated with the region’s wines.
The resulting rosés are typically pale, dry and refreshing, combining delicate fruit and floral flavours with enough structure and acidity to accompany food as well as being enjoyed by themselves.
