Le Bouquet de Georges Blanc is a fresh, aromatic and wonderfully approachable French white from Georges Duboeuf, one of the most recognisable names in French wine. Crafted from an intriguing blend of Marsanne, Viognier, Roussanne, Ugni Blanc and Clairette, it brings together five complementary grape varieties to create a wine that balances ripe fruit and aromatic character with vibrant freshness.

Each variety plays its part in the finished wine. Marsanne contributes body and soft orchard fruit, while Viognier brings fragrant floral aromas and ripe peach character. Roussanne adds finesse and subtle complexity, with Ugni Blancproviding lively acidity and citrus freshness and Clairette bringing delicacy and further aromatic lift. Together they create a beautifully balanced white that has plenty of flavour without ever becoming heavy.

Producer

Georges Duboeuf is a story that began more than four centuries ago, when the Duboeuf family was producing wine in the Mâconnais. It is a story that inspired Georges Duboeuf at a very young age, when his uncle and brother passed on to him their wine-making know-how. Barely 18 years old, he quits his studies to take care of the family estate in Chaintré, one of the Villages of Pouilly-Fuissé.

Georges Duboeuf, often referred to as the “King of Beaujolais,” is renowned for his skill in producing wines that celebrate the unique character of French terroirs. While Duboeuf is famous for his Beaujolais wines, he also crafts wines from other notable regions like Languedoc and Burgundy. The “Le Bouquet de Georges” series represents his passion for fresh, approachable wines that are perfect for everyday enjoyment.

Food Pairings

Moules marinières – Mussels with white wine, shallots and herbs

The wine’s floral and ripe-fruit character complements the natural sweetness of the mussels, while its crisp acidity cuts through the richness of the broth and leaves the palate refreshed.

It is also excellent with grilled king prawns, baked sea bass, seafood pasta, roast chicken, chicken salads, vegetable tarts, grilled Mediterranean vegetables, goat’s cheese, soft cheeses, lightly spiced Asian dishes and fresh summer salads.

Wine Region

The Languedoc region, located in southern France along the Mediterranean coast, is one of the country’s oldest and most dynamic wine regions. Known for its warm, sunny climate and diverse soils, Languedoc is ideal for growing these white varietal grapes . The region’s terroir, influenced by the cooling sea breezes, allows grapes to ripen slowly and develop rich flavours while maintaining natural acidity. Languedoc has earned a reputation for producing high-quality, approachable wines that reflect the Mediterranean lifestyle, perfect for sharing with friends and family.
